Melanie's STORY!
Movement has always been part of my life, but how I understand it—and what I teach—has been shaped by my lived experience.
I had a very active childhood. I was a competitive athlete until the age of 16, as well as a passionate dancer and majorette. At 20, I suffered a complicated elbow break that, to this day, has left me with limited mobility. The long road to recovery introduced me to functional fitness and strength training—not just as tools for healing, but as ways to build resilience, adapt, and grow. That experience planted the first seeds of what would become my professional path. It gave me a deep understanding of acceptance, patience, and perseverance.
I spent much of my 20s and 30s expanding my knowledge while beginning to lean into a more holistic approach. I blended my love of travel with a desire to explore mindfulness, yoga, and the mind-body-spirit connection.
In 2021, I faced another deeply traumatic experience—losing my dad to COVID. It was an emotional and physical rollercoaster. Grief hit me hard on every level. At the same time, I was navigating the often-unspoken mental and emotional challenges of perimenopause. The combination of hormonal shifts, emotional overwhelm, and physical exhaustion brought me to a full stop. In that stillness, I turned inward to rediscover new ways of being.
I found my way to somatic yoga, sound therapy, and a deeper connection to nature. These weren’t just coping strategies—they became rituals of reconnection. They helped me come home to my body, process emotion, and rediscover a quieter, more grounded version of myself. That time changed how I live and how I work. I began to truly understand the importance of rest, nervous system regulation, and slowing down.
Just as I was beginning to return to the world with renewed clarity, I was hit with COVID myself. It left me physically weak and disconnected from my former sense of strength. I applied everything I had learned and, once again, rebuilt my resilience—from the inside out.

Today, my work is rooted in everything I’ve lived through and learned along the way.
It’s evidence-informed, deeply personal, and intuitive.
I’m deeply aware of how often wellness spaces centre whiteness, the able bodied experince, and heteronormativity. I’ve moved through these spaces with a lived awareness of what’s missing—and what needs to be reclaimed. My practice is intentionally shaped to create more inclusive, affirming spaces—especially for those often left out of mainstream wellness: queer folks, people of colour, and anyone navigating marginalisation or disconnection.
For me, wellbeing isn't just about individual change—it’s about collective care, representation, and creating environments where people feel seen, respected, and supported in their bodies.
My Mission
To help all bodies move with intention, awareness, and compassion—through life’s challenges, changes, and beyond.
